NRL 709F, Bistable relay coil 12V (capacity 100A, 230V)

The NRL 709F relay is designed and optimized for the specific requirements of BMS systems. Its parameters, such as switching current, voltage, and design, may not be suitable for use in EVSE, where there are different demands on switching power circuits. For EVSE, relays with higher current carrying capacity and other parameters are used, e.g., relays designed for switching alternating current.

Why is the NRL 709F not intended for EVSE? Because it is a bistable relay and has two coils. One for turning on and the other for turning off.

• Switching circuits: The NRL 709F relay is used to control various circuits in the BMS, for example, to disconnect the battery in case of a fault, overload, or low voltage. It can switch circuits for charging, discharging, heating, cooling, and other battery-related functions.
• Battery protection: The relay plays a key role in protecting the battery from damage. It enables quick and reliable disconnection of the battery from the rest of the system in critical situations.
• Charging and discharging management: In BMS, the NRL 709F is used to manage the battery charging and discharging process. It allows regulating current and voltage and thus optimizing the charging and discharging process.
• Cell balancing: In batteries composed of multiple cells, the relay can participate in balancing the voltage between individual cells, thereby extending the battery's lifespan.
• Communication and diagnostics: The relay can be part of the communication and diagnostic circuits of the BMS, allowing monitoring of the battery status and identification of potential problems.
